EDA Grant Expected to Create 960 Jobs and Generate $34.5 Million in Private Investment

WASHINGTON - U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke today announced a $2.6 million Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant to the Camden County (NJ) Municipal Utilities Authority to help rehabilitate sewer lines to support the expansion of the Campbell Soup Company Headquarters and the development of the adjacent Gateway Office Park. The project is expected to create 960 jobs and generate $34.5 million in private investment, according to grantee estimates.

"The Obama Administration is committed to creating jobs, encouraging innovation and improving our nation's competitiveness," Locke said. "This investment will create new jobs and boost private investment in the region by building the infrastructure needed to support business expansion plans and serve future business needs."
