EDA Grant Expected to Create 500 Jobs and Generate $24.5 Million in Private Investment

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) today announced a $921,270 grant to the Jennings County Commissioners and the city of North Vernon, Ind., to extend sanitary sewer service along U.S. Highway 50 and near a new and growing Army Guard training base.

"The Economic Development Administration is pleased to partner with Jennings County and the city of North Vernon to boost business development and job growth," said Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer. "This EDA grant is expected to attract $24.5 million in private investment and create 500 jobs for local citizens, according to grantee estimates."
