Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $44 million in grants to the BioFabrication Cluster, led by the City of Manchester, to establish a biofabrication cluster in Southern New Hampshire.

Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge provides each award winner funding to rebuild regional economies, promote inclusive and equitable recovery, and create thousands of good-paying jobs in industries of the future such as clean energy, next-generation manufacturing, and biotechnology.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Virginia Advanced Pharma Manufacturing (APM) and R&D Cluster as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $52.9 million in grants to the Virginia Advanced Pharma Manufacturing (APM) and R&D Cluster, led by the Virginia Biotechnology Research Partnership Authority (Activation Capital), to boost Virginia’s pharmaceutical industry.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the South Kansas Coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $51.4 million in grants to the South Kansas Coalition, led by Wichita State University, to strengthen aerospace production in southern Kansas.

Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $62.7 million in grants to the Southwestern Pennsylvania New Economy Collaborative to supercharge the region’s globally recognized robotics and autonomy cluster.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Appalachian Climate Technology (ACT Now) coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $63.7 million in grants to the New Energy New York coalition, led by The State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton, to accelerate battery technology innovation in New York.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Alaska Mariculture Cluster as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $49 million in grants to the Alaska Mariculture Cluster, led by the Southeast Conference, to catalyze a sustainable mariculture industry in Alaska.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Building Central Florida’s Semiconductor Cluster for Broad-Based Prosperity as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $50.8 million in grants to the Building Central Florida’s Semiconductor Cluster for Broad-Based Prosperity, led by the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners, to boost semiconductor industry in central Florida.

WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden will announce the Oregon Mass Timber Coalition as one of 21 winners of the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge, the most impactful regional economic development competition in decades. Funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan and administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), the Regional Challenge is awarding approximately $41.4 million in grants to the Oregon Mass Timber Coalition, led by the Port of Portland, to modernize and boost the forest products industry in Oregon.
