WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million grant to Briar Cliff University, Sioux City, Iowa, to renovate and expand a former residence hall to create the Health Care Workforce Training Facility. This grant is funded by the American Rescue Plan.

U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $3 Million in American Rescue Plan Funds to Support Workforce Development in Southern California’s Entertainment Industry

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3 million grant to the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles, Inc., Los Angeles, California, for renovations to a 6,688-square foot warehouse needed to train and upskill workers in Southern California’s entertainment industry. This grant is funded by the American Rescue Plan.
