Tech Hubs Designation Supported by Entire Biden-Harris Administration

With the designation of 31 inaugural Tech Hubs on October 23, 2023, EDA sent a strong signal about a region’s ability to position itself as a global competitor in a critical technological area, such as semiconductors, clean energy, critical minerals, biotechnology, precision medicine, autonomous systems, quantum computing, and more. We believe that these 31 regions across the country have the assets, resources, and capabilities to become global centers of innovation and job creators with this boost of attention and resources from the federal government.

Biden-Harris Administration Designates 31 Tech Hubs Across America

WASHINGTON, DC — The Biden-Harris administration, through the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), today announced the designation of 31 Tech Hubs in regions across the country. This is the first phase of the new Tech Hubs program, which is an economic development initiative designed to drive regional innovation and job creation by strengthening a region’s capacity to manufacture, commercialize, and deploy technology that will advance American competitiveness. The program invests directly in burgeoning, high-potential U.S. regions and aims to transform them into globally competitive innovation centers.

Administración Biden-Harris designa 31 Centros Tecnológicos (Tech Hubs) a través de Estados Unidos

WASHINGTON, DC — La administración Biden-Harris, a través de la Administración de Desarrollo Económico (EDA) del Departamento de Comercio de los Estados Unidos, anunció hoy la designación de 31 Tech Hubs en regiones de todo el país. Esta es la primera fase del nuevo programa Tech Hubs, que es una iniciativa de desarrollo económico diseñada para impulsar la innovación regional y la creación de empleo mediante el fortalecimiento de la capacidad de una región para fabricar, comercializar e implementar tecnología que mejorará la competitividad estadounidense. Solicitudes para el Programa Piloto Recompete (Volver a Competir) de la administración Biden-Harris Destaca Oportunidades para Impulsar las Comunidades Estadounidenses

WASHINGTON, DC – La Administración de Desarrollo Económico (EDA) del Departamento de Comercio de los Estados Unidos anunció que recibió 565 solicitudes para la Fase 1 del Programa Piloto de Recompete (Volver a Competir), lo que representa el mayor número de solicitudes de cualquier competencia nacional de EDA hasta la fecha. El Programa Recompete es una pieza clave de la agenda Invirtiendo en Estados Unidos del presidente Biden y refleja el compromiso de la Administración de crear oportunidades económicas en comunidades que han sido olvidadas durante demasiado tiempo. The Recompete Program is a key piece of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda and reflects the Administration's commitment to creating economic opportunity in communities that have for too long been forgotten. EDA received applications from all parts of the country, representing 49 states and 4 territories.

U.S. Commerce Department Announces $13.5 Million to Support U.S. Manufacturers

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced $13.5 million in U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) grants to support 11 Trade Adjustment Assistance Centers (TAACs) that help manufacturers affected by imports adjust to increasing global competition and to create jobs. The TAACs, which each service multiple states/regions, are located in California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington.
