WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding its first local investment as part of the Coal Communities Commitment to the Morgantown Utility Board in Morgantown, W.Va. The $2 million American Rescue Plan grant will help  create 300 jobs and generate $250 million in private investment to build a new  beverage processing and packaging facility in the Morgantown Industrial Park.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $840,400 CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to Alameda County, California, to support recovery of the region’s economy by providing technical assistance and other resources to small and medium-sized businesses. This EDA grant will be matched with $840,400 in local investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.1 million grant to Colorado Mesa University (CMU), Grand Junction, Colorado, to provide equipment and technology to support physician’s assistant, physical therapy, and occupational therapy degree programs. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.9 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the city of Farmersville, Texas, to build new fiber optic broadband infrastructure to support businesses and residents. This EDA grant will be matched with $727,203 in local funds.

This EDA grant, to be matched with $1.2 million in local funds, is expected to create 38 jobs and generate $5 million in private investment.

Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the city of Wynne, Arkansas, to construct a new industrial rail spur facility to support local manufacturers. This EDA grant, to be matched with $500,000 in local funds, is expected to create 200 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3.6 million grant to the Workroom Program Alliance and the Cleveland Municipal School District., Cleveland, Ohio, to renovate a 33,000-square-foot space within Cleveland’s Collinwood High School for use as an adult technical training and workforce development facility. This EDA project, to be matched with $901,928 in local funds, is expected to create 218 jobs, retain 819 jobs, and generate $15 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.5 million grant to the city of Crossett, Arkansas, to complete the East Crossett Sewer Improvement Project to support business growth at the Crossett Industrial Park. This EDA project, to be matched with $365,180 in local funds, is expected to create 220 jobs, retain 40 jobs, and generate $603 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.8 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the city of Osceola, Arkansas, to make water and wastewater improvements to support the region’s growing steel sector. This EDA grant, to be matched with $955,405 in local funds, is expected to create 100 jobs and generate $2 billion in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.6 million grant to the Harrison County Commission, Clarksburg, West Virginia, to build and establish a clean energy products manufacturing facility, creating jobs, and spurring private investment in this hard-hit former coal mining community. This EDA grant will be matched with $1.3 million in local funds, is expected to help create 200 jobs, and generate $4 million in private investment.
