U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $1.3 Million in CARES Act Recovery Assistance to Support Agriculture Supply Chain Improvement in Pennsylvania

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.3 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Millheim, Pennsylvania, to help establish a singular database and e-commerce marketplace to comprehensively connect and stabilize the regional foodshed supply chain. This EDA grant will be matched with $319,418 in state and local funds.

U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $2.6 Million to Expand Broadband Access in Barron and Washburn Counties in Wisconsin

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.6 million grant to Mosaic Technologies, Cameron, Wisconsin, to install more than 70 miles of broadband fiber optic cable in Barron and Washburn counties in Wisconsin to expand access and increase reliability. This EDA project, to be matched with $3 million in local funds, is expected to create 54 jobs, retain 616 jobs, and generate $1.5 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $915,120 CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the Nevada System of Higher Education, Las Vegas, Nevada, to support the post-pandemic revitalization of Nevada’s travel and tourism sectors. This EDA grant, to be matched with $228,780 in local investment, is expected to create 13 jobs and retain 120 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2 million grant to the city of Sikeston, Missouri, to support development of the South Industrial Park. This EDA project, to be matched with $657,000 in other federal funds and $236,700 in local funds, is expected to create 100 jobs and generate nearly $30 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.6 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the town of Shelburn, Indiana, to construct new water infrastructure and provide an adequate water supply and fire suppression capacity at the town’s Sullivan County Community Hospital Business Park. This EDA grant, to be matched with $647,200 in local funds, is expected to retain 408 jobs.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $5.1 million CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant to the city of Hoonah, Alaska, to make critical infrastructure improvements to the Hoonah Marine Industrial Center Cargo Dock.
