WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3 million grant to the city of Somerset, Kentucky, to provide upgrades for two wastewater treatment facilities, supporting economic growth and job creation. This EDA grant will be matched with $750,000 in local funds, and is expected to help create 379 jobs, retain 580 jobs, and generate $179 million in private investment.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3 million grant to the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for infrastructure upgrades needed to boost offloading capacity at the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal. U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $2.6 Million to Expand Broadband Access in Barron and Washburn Counties in Wisconsin

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.6 million grant to Mosaic Technologies, Cameron, Wisconsin, to install more than 70 miles of broadband fiber optic cable in Barron and Washburn counties in Wisconsin to expand access and increase reliability. This EDA project, to be matched with $3 million in local funds, is expected to create 54 jobs, retain 616 jobs, and generate $1.5 million in private investment.

Raimondo announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $3.4 million grant to the Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County, Port Huron, Michigan, to construct an 11,000-square-foot building for use as a small business incubator that will support emerging and second-stage businesses in the state’s I-69 Thumb Region.
