Biden-Harris Administration’s Tech Hubs Competition Applications Show Nationwide Excitement for Investing in America’s Technological Future

WASHINGTON, DC — The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), announced the receipt of hundreds of applications for Phase 1 of the Regional Technology and Innovation Hubs (Tech Hubs) competition, a key piece of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda. U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $2.5 Million for Water Infrastructure Improvements to Support Aluminum Manufacturing Industry in Bay Minette, Alabama

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.5 million grant to North Baldwin Utilities in Bay Minette, Alabama, for water infrastructure upgrades to support a new aluminum manufacturing facility and create jobs in the region.

EDA Leadership Meets With Native Community Development Coalition Members in South Dakota

This spring, Dennis Alvord, EDA’s Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Economic Development and Chief Operating Officer, visited Rapid City, South Dakota. He met with members of the Mountain Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition (Mountain Plains), led by the Four Bands Community Fund. In 2022, Mountain Plains received a $45 million EDA award as part of the Build Back Better Regional Challenge (BBBRC).

U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $1.7 Million to Expand Agricultural and Lineworker Training Workforce Training Programs in Christian County, Missouri

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.7 million grant to Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri, to construct a new workforce training facility on the Richwood Valley Campus in Christian County.
