Enhancing Capital Access for the Greater Dayton Region

Federal Share: $400,000
Local Match: $400,000

This EDA investment aims to accelerate the region’s ability to organize its capital base, create pathways to institutional venture funds, and solidify linkages across the region’s pool of high-performing, diverse entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs Center (EC) has a two-prong strategy: Build Resident Investment Capacity and Facilitate Seed Stage Investments.

The project goals are to organize its capital base, create pathways to institutional venture funds, and solidify linkages across the region’s pool of high-performing, diverse entrepreneurs. In parallel, EC will complete a feasibility study on resident capital informed by its efforts to educate would-be investors about angel funding and foster sustainable networks for investors to share deals and meet entrepreneurs. Collectively, these efforts will grow the number of investment-ready startups and build relationships necessary for new investors to collaborate with and participate in seed-stage venture funds.
