Designated the #1 Rural Serving Institution in Texas by The Alliance for Research on Regional Colleges, Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU) has established the University Center (UC) under the direction of the Division of Academic Affairs in the Center for Applied Research and Rural Innovation (CARRI). Our goals are to leverage assets to expand ongoing rural economic development activities in Deep East Texas and build on our entrepreneurial ecosystem. This UC is implementing a technical assistance framework supported by applied research and an efficient communications system to disseminate information and enhance economic growth and stability in the region.
