The Business and Community Resilience Center (“BCRC”) at the University of Texas at San Antonio’s (UTSA) Institute for Economic Development's program will function as a community and economic development accelerator for councils of government, providing them with technical assistance, access to resources, facilitating networking, providing access to training and research, and custom research/planning services to increase resilience in their communities. Due to capacity constraints that councils of government often experience, The UTSA University Center (UC) will provide COGs with access to resources, information, training, and introductions to key researchers that will effectively advocate for and grow their local communities. The end goal is to assist historically underserved communities develop their local economies to become more resilient in the face of global challenges and participate as part of the regional economy, with access to the same resources that traditionally gravitate towards larger communities.
