The Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center (MAMC) is a designated EDA University Center, an expansion of the former West Virginia University Center (WVUC). Providing enhanced statewide services focused on advancing regional commercialization efforts and developing a high-skilled regional workforce, MAMC supports an economic ecosystem with commercialization, entrepreneurship, education and training.
   We are committed to growing West Virginia’s economy by using the Design Thinking process, increasing the availability of – and ease-of-access to – emerging technologies and other contemporary tools. As a result of our work, entrepreneurs and businesses can position themselves on the cutting-edge and compete successfully in the global economy.
   Funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration and the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, the EDA University Center at Marshall University supports entrepreneurs, businesses and economic development in all 55 West Virginia counties.
   The University Center supports an entrepreneur and innovation-focused economic ecosystem in West Virginia, and further accelerates entrepreneurship by providing Early-Stage Funding for product development; resulting in the creation of new businesses, new jobs, and job-retention.
   By providing direct assistance, encouraging entrepreneurial activity, cultivating innovation, activating regional collaboration, opening access to new markets, and developing new technologies – our work ultimately enhances an ecosystem that has a national and international impact and diversifies energy-impacted regions of the state.
