EDA announced 2 investments from December 11 – December 19, 2024, totaling $580,000 which is matched by $100,000 in local investments. These investments include the following:
- $400,000 in one Economic Adjustment Assistance-2023 Disaster Supplemental project to help regions that are experiencing severe economic distress or other economic hardship resulting from Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, wildfires, flooding, and other natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2021 and 2022, and to help create 15 jobs, save 15 jobs, and leverage $50 thousand in private investment.
- $180,000 in one Partnership Planning project to support the development and implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy process.
- $400,000 in one 2023 Disaster Supplemental project, matched by $100,000 in local investments, as follows:
- $400,000 to the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments, Salem/Marion County, OR, to support establishing a new revolving loan fund (RLF) to serve the counties of Polk, Yamhill, and Marion. The RLF will help alleviate sudden and severe economic dislocation and further the long-term economic adjustment objectives of the area, which will promote job creation and retention, attract private investment, and bolster economic resiliency throughout the region. The grantee estimates that this investment will create 15 jobs, save 15 jobs, and leverage $50 thousand in private investment.
- $180,000 in one Partnership Planning project, as follows:
- $180,000 to the Inter-Tribal Council, Inc., Miami/Ottawa County, OK, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Inter-Tribal Council, which is comprised of nine federally recognized Indian Tribes: Miami, Modoc, Ottawa, Peoria, Quapaw, Seneca-Cayuga, Shawnee, Eastern Shawnee, and Wyandotte. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
