EDA announced one investment from March 10-16, 2023, for $308,726, which is matched by $77,834 in local investment.  This Economic Adjustment Assistance project will help communities design and implement strategies to adjust or bring about change to their economy in response to structural damage to their underlying economic base as follows:

• $308,726 in one Economic Adjustment Assistance project, matched by $77,834 in local investment, to the City of Hamtramck, Hamtramck/Wayne County, Michigan, to support the hiring of a consultant who will use local data to develop and create a robust and actionable economic development strategic plan for Hamtramck.  The plan will support new and existing businesses in the downtown corridor as well as areas all over the city.  Once completed, the project will result in the region having a resource to prepare for response to and recovery from future disasters, which will boost employment opportunities in the area and help attract private investment to diversify the local economy.
