EDA announced 3 investments from March 28 – April 4, 2024, totaling $689,970 which is matched by $99,957 in local investments. These investments include the following:

  1. $299,970 in one Economic Adjustment Assistance-2023 Disaster Supplemental projects to help regions that are experiencing severe economic distress or other economic hardship resulting from Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, wildfires, flooding, and other natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2021 and 2022.
  2. $390,000 in two Partnership Planning projects to support the development and implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy process.
  • $299,970 in one 2023 Disaster Supplemental projects, matched by $99,957 in local investments, as follows:
    • $299,970 to the Coastal Villages Region Fund, Anchorage/Anchorage Municipality, Alaska to support with acquiring the training, equipment, and software to produce valuable mapping products that visualize the interaction between climate change and the built environment in Western Alaska. The project will help empower local leaders with timely, accurate information that will increase local self-determination and self-sufficiency. Once completed, the project will help create a highly skilled workforce, enhance economic resiliency, and strengthen the regional economy.
  • $390,000 in two Partnership Planning projects: to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS). The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $195,000 to the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, Sequim/Clallam County, Washington, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $195,000 to the Burns Paiute Tribe, Burns/Harney County, Oregon, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) in the region served by the Burns Paiute Tribe. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
