EDA announced 4 investments from March 7 - March 14, 2024, totaling $315,000 which is matched by $32,142 in local investments.  These investments include the following:

  1. $100,000 in one Economic Adjustment Assistance to help communities design and implement strategies to adjust or bring about change to their economy in response to structural damage to their underlying economic base.
  2. $215,000 in three Partnership Planning projects to support the development and implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy process.
  • $100,000 in one Economic Adjustment Assistance project, as follows:
    • $100,000 to The Tatitlek Corporation, Anchorage/Anchorage County, Alaska, to fund the establishment of an economic development planning strategy focused on the improvement and development of critical infrastructure and increasing broadband access and connectivity in Anchorage, Alaska.  The project will provide cost-benefit analyses and economic forecasting for multiple alternatives for infrastructure improvement, and how different projects will benefit the residents of the village of Tatitlek.  Once implemented, the project will provide sustainable and long-term economic growth in the area.
  • $215,000 in three Partnership Planning projects, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS).  The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $75,000 to the Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc., Phoenix/Maricopa County, Arizona, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc.  The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $65,000 to the Karuk Tribe, Happy Camp/Humboldt County, California, to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) in the region served by the Karuk Tribe located in Northern California and encompasses Siskiyou County communities of Yreka, Klamath River, Horse Creek, Hamburg, Scott Bar, Seiad, Happy Camp, Somes Bar, Salmon River, and Orleans located in Humboldt County.  The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
    • $75,000 to The Southeast Conference, Juneau/Juneau, Alaska, to supports the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for the region served by the Southeast Conference, Inc.  The project will also help provide new and innovative approaches to economic development for the region including developing regional improvement plans, define regional assets that contribute to sustainable economic clusters, and assist member entities with development strategies and local/ regional planning.  The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.
