U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $544,000 to Bolster Small Manufacturing and Technology Sectors in Larimer County, Colorado

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $544,000 grant to the Warehouse Business Accelerator in Loveland, Colorado, to bolster the small manufacturing and technology sectors in Larimer County.

This grant will provide additional funding opportunities for local entrepreneurs, improving economic diversification in an area impacted by recent wildfire activity.  This EDA investment will be matched with $136,000 in local funds and is expected to create 120 jobs, and generate $40 million in private investment, according to grantee estimates.

“The Economic Development Administration works closely with communities in Colorado and across the country to support locally led economic development,” said Acting Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development Cristina Killingsworth. “This investment will support second-stage manufacturing and technology entrepreneurs and small businesses in Larimer County by expanding local capacity and technology resources, creating a stronger regional economy.”

“In Colorado, we are focused on strengthening industries across our state and making sure local entrepreneurs can innovate and grow their businesses,” said Governor Jared Polis. “We are thrilled to announce this grant, which will empower local manufacturing and technology companies to create jobs and attract investment, all while building a more resilient Larimer County.”

This project is funded under the Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2023, which provided EDA with $483 million in additional Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) Program funds for disaster relief and recovery for areas that received a major disaster declaration under the Robert T. Stafford Act as a result of Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, wildfires, flooding, and other natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2021 and 2022.
