Research and National Technical Assistance (RNTA)

The RNTA program is not accepting or evaluating concepts at this time. 

The RNTA program funds research, evaluation, and national technical assistance projects that promote competitiveness and innovation in distressed rural and urban regions throughout the United States and its territories. Such projects will support the DOC Strategic Plan (2018-2022) including through the advancement of innovation and job growth with a specific focus on building the capacities for job growth; providing data, tools and technical assistance to support the export needs of business; and, supporting growing ecosystems that attract foreign direct investment.

The statutory authority for the RNTA programs is section 207 of PWEDA (42 U.S.C. § 3147). Applicant eligibility and program requirements are set forth in EDA’s regulations at 13 C.F.R. chapter III, and all applicants must address these requirements. Specific requirements for the RNTA program are at subpart A of 13 C.F.R. part 306.
