David Kenney
President/Executive Director, VertueLab
David Kenney (he/him) lives in Portland, Oregon and, since 2008, has led VertueLab, a nonprofit organization with a mission to unleash innovation and entrepreneurship to solve environmental challenges and catalyze shared economic prosperity. VertueLab makes catalytic investments and provides support to early stage climate tech companies.
David served on the National Advisory Council on Innovation & Entrepreneurship (NACIE) during 2014-18, twice appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. During twelve years at Intel Corp, David held leadership roles in finance, project management and business and organizational operations, and co-founded and led the Intel Employee Sustainability Network.
He is an angel investor and investment fund LP with a focus on BIPOC and women startup founders and fund managers. In 2020, he completed the Northwest Conservation Philanthropy Fellowship program, and he is a 2021-22 Just Economy Institute Fellow.
David has a BA degree from the University of Washington and an MBA and certificate in public management from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
David has two adult children. He enjoys hiking/backpacking, flatwater kayaking, watching Portland Timbers and Thorns soccer, and traveling.
