Dug Song is Chief Strategy Officer for Cisco Security, and formerly co-founder and CEO of Duo Security, one of the fastest-growing cybersecurity providers in the world. In 2018, Duo was acquired by Cisco for $2.35 billion, making it the largest exit ever for a Michigan-based software company.
Dug is a renowned hacker and leading voice in the information security industry, often quoted on cybersecurity issues by international media, and appearing onstage at industry events around the world.
Dug is heavily involved in the startup community and fostering entrepreneurship in Michigan. He is co-founder of the Michigan Founders Fund, helping entrepreneurs turn business success into positive community impact, and serves on the board of the Detroit Regional Chamber, with a focus on racial justice and economic equity.
In 2020, Dug and his wife started the Song Foundation to invest in the innovative people and organizations improving the quality of life for all in Southeast Michigan, and building a more just and equitable world. Dug also serves on the executive board of Wallace House, home of the Knight-Wallace fellowships for journalists, and on the advisory board of Venture for America in Detroit.
